How I Use AI
Last updated October 2026
I write about using AI well, so I think you deserve to know exactly how I use it myself. Here's my process, what AI does and doesn't do on this site, and what I hold myself to.
And yes, that includes writing. French is my first language, and my goal isn't to become an author. It's to share ideas I care about, clearly. AI helps me turn my thinking into clear English, so you can focus on the ideas rather than on my grammar. The ideas, opinions and experiences are mine; AI helps me put them into words. It helped write this page too.
What AI helps me with
- Challenging my thinking. I use AI to argue against my ideas, find assumptions I'm taking for granted and point out what I might be missing.
- Research. It helps me find studies, data and sources, which I then open, read and check myself.
- Drafting and structure. It helps me organize my ideas and turn my outline into a first draft in clear English.
- Editing. It helps me tighten sentences, cut filler and catch errors.
What AI doesn't do
- Choose what I write about. Every topic, angle and argument on this site is mine.
- Have my opinions for me. If I take a position, it's one I actually hold.
- Invent experience. Personal stories and examples are real and mine. AI never makes them up.
- Publish anything. Nothing goes live until I've read, edited and approved it.
What I'm responsible for
- Facts and sources. I check every claim, number, quote and link before publishing, and I link to my sources so you can check them too.
- The final words. I edit every piece until it says what I mean, in a way I'd say it.
- Mistakes. If something here is wrong, that's on me, not on a tool. Tell me at info@productecommerce.com and I'll correct it, with a note saying what changed.
How I label each piece
Every article ends with a short note explaining how it was made, because not every piece is made the same way. If AI drafted a piece from my outline, I'll say so. If I wrote it myself and only used AI to edit, I'll say that too.
I'll update this page as my process changes.
